(02 in Punjab and 01 in Sindh) – (NED 2021-Ongoing)

SAHE under, its citizenship education program with its emphasis on pluralism and appreciation for diversity, has worked with public sector universities in Punjab in the context of orientation and implementation of a “Social and Religious Tolerance” course over the span of four years.  Based on the success of this effort, SAHE with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is pursuing an initiative “Promoting a pluralist narrative among Pakistani youth through broadcast media” aimed at collaborating with three (03) public sector universities [two in Punjab, i.e., Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture Multan as well as Bahahuddin Zakariya University Multan; and one in Sindh, i.e., Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur] to set up and strengthen Campus Radio.  As part of this ongoing initiative, Department of Mass Communications in each university will be taken on board and engagement of technical experts associated with Radio will be sought to build the capacity of students of media society and selected faculty members on skills essential to develop and broadcast radio programs. The media society will be mentored  on an ongoing basis by technical experts in reviewing students developed programs that highlight messages of hope, unity, pluralism, and tolerance through music, poetry, drama debates as well as talk shows.
