Fareeha Zafar has been the director of SAHE for the past 10 years as well as one of its founder members. She has worked as a consultant to the World Bank, ADB, DFID, CIDA, UNESCO, UNICEF, ESRA, USAID, Commonwealth Secretariat, Arcadis/GHK, Governments of Netherlands and Norway, British Council, European Union and as a Technical Adviser to the Ministry of Education. She is also a founder member of Women’s Action Forum (WAF) Lahore and is on the Board of the Directors of LEAD and TVO. Prior to this she taught at the University of the Punjab-Pakistan for 25 yeas and served as the Director Designate of the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Studies for five years there. She has also edited a book on Women in Pakistan. Fareeha has a Ph.d in Geography from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK and has been a Fulbright Post-doctoral Scholar and Fulbright Research Scholar.
